GOP/Ryan Anti Poverty Plan-Give The Money To Churches/Private Charities/NonProfits

The GOP anti poverty plan has always been that the churches should run all domestic programs and even medical clinics. The idea is to give the churches and other groups money to set up their own operations under loose guidelines. So if you are disabled, sick, unemployed, poor, lacking food, lacking shelter et al you would go to the local church or nonprofit to get help.

The churches wound not face any restrictions about who they would refuse services. The churches would have to make up any funding shortfall from charitable contributions. The GOP believes government has NO obligation to these groups. That solution to poverty is the final solution.

"final solution." It has a specific meaning and is frankly offensive when used in other contexts.

I was reading an article by one of his supporters recently that pretty much said that. The GOP believes the churches should be responsible for poverty programs and employment programs. It was common in 1900 for the churches to handle poverty. There were no government programs back then.

In fact the labor model of the GOP looks exactly like it was post the Civil War. No labor laws, no child labor laws, market based wage, work at will, no due process in hiring firing, and no benefits except your miserly pay check. There were communities with company housing, company scrip and company stores. Workers had NO status and were expendable commodities.

to F over America. Well this was part of it. Hand full of Dems got wind of it and rammed it up little Newties butt. We will see if this happens again. Their are Billions of Dollars at stake for the Medical Industry and they get their money from their Pals at the Insurance Companies. Goose and Golden egg.

Most of them can barely afford to support themselves, much less take on the social safety net.
