Almost nobody wants to hear your opinion: everybody already has one

But many people are always eager to learn more

That doesn't mean folk want to hear your lecture: they don't

A crisp factual sound-bite can works wonders

But you can quickly and permanently lose credibility when inaccurate

Don't talk at people: converse with them

Be informed and be succinct

People listen better when somebody listens to them

Learn by trial what persuades others: it's probably not what persuades you
