The Republicans will be more than pleased to see Mike Pence in the Oval Office for four years.
I think that's what they want to happen. Whether King Louie makes it to inauguration or gets impeached in the days after, the result will be the same. The GOP will hold both houses of Congress and the WH, and their figurehead second-choice President will happily rubber-stamp the worst legislation they can pass, because he's a narrow-minded, gay-bashing, Bible-thumping, screw-the-poor-and-don't-tax-the-rich bigot who is much more genuinely representative of 'the base' than their gold-plated ersatz Voice Of The Common Man®. AND he'll be deeply in their debt for steering him into an office he couldn't have attained on his own.
Will Pence be bothered by (a) losing the popular vote and (b) getting into office only because the actual electee was an even bigger loser ? Frankly, I doubt he thinks deeply enough to worry about such things. The fact that he was eager to campaign with Agent Orange shows he's got a strong masochistic streak anyway. If it didn't bother W to go down in the history books as the Worst President Ever I doubt Pence will worry if his only legacy is "at least he's not tRump".
Four years of a tRump administration would be awful. Pence will be as awful, but more competent -- which is not a good thing. And if Goldmember is kept in place as a figurehead, we'll be seeing a shadow gov't run out of the basement of the WH, just like under Reagan. Only now they'll have Dick Cheney around to show him how it's really done.
Think about that for a while, and see if you don't think doing every single thing we can to demand an audit, recount, or invalidation wherever possible doesn't sound like a better idea, regardless of who requests or pays for it. It's the only possible way to keep TWO Repugs out of the WH.
