About Trump and his "nominees":

It seems that for whatever office he is considering, he assiduously looks for AND finds the absolute worst, least experienced, or completely unqualified person to fill said office.

Every. Single. Time.

I am no longer horrified, but instead feel saddened and outraged.

I expect the Senate Democrats to put up very stiff resistance and opposition to this parade of the extremely unworthy.

He is giving the rightwing every single wet dream they ever prayed for. And it will hurt us all, them most of all because they will know they begged for it.

I guess 'be carefu what you ask for' applies here.

All rich people and DC insiders. And all possible leashes on Trump to tie him to the GOP leaders.

He gets the worst people in America together for a group photo by offering lots of swag. He slips out of the room for a moment to set off the dynamite.

That's his actual plan to make America great again.

Hey, I read it in The Lounge. It has to be true, right?

(Please know that this is in no way meant to minimize your sadness. It's just that you've been one of my favorite posters for a very long time, and I took a shot at possibly giving you a reason to smile.)

When it does, he can declare the constitution null and void ushering in his own brand of fascism.

At which point we will either bow down to him, flee or be locked up or worse.

I honestly don't think he has the ability to concentrate that well for as long as causing this failure would take. At least I hope not.

We must stay alert to whatever shenanigans he might be planning.

I find it sad, at best, that all Trump seems to find are inexperienced people who seem to have spent a lifetime cheating other people. Valuing the love of money above all else should not be a criteria for picking cabinet members for a country where the difference in wealth between the haves and have nots is so marked. With his cabinet picks it will only get exponentially worse. Our country is in deep, deep trouble.

And terrifying at the same time.

There was a good panel on the Diane Rehm show this morning dealing with the question of how does the media handle reporting on a president who lies all the time, makes these kinds of appointments, etc. She had that idiot Scottie woman on the phone for a few minutes but James Fallows easily sliced and diced her. The rest of it was pretty interesting.

Their answer: we've got to do things differently. Will they? I'm not holding my breath.

Right now, it would like HHS and Treasury. I think Price will create a lot of controversy with his ideas on Obamacare and Medicare reform. The Treasury nominee, Mnuchi (sp) is nothing but a suck-buddy of Trump's, both greedy bastards, with little to brag about.

I've never heard such a hush coming from anywhere. We have NO representation. Thrown to the wolves. It's as if he decided to pick the cabinet that would do the best job of destroying this country and making the lives of "the little people" hell. I am beyond despondent. I wish I could feel that the Democrats in power have my back. But I can't.
