Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCould Donald Trump's Empire fall apart during his tenure as President?
What if his tax returns show how incredibly leveraged his Trump Organization truly is?
What if his kids mismanage the 500+ businesses within the Trump Organization?
What if past deals have been cut from the cult of the Donald Trump Personality and not financial capital and/or brains and his kids aren't wired for that kind of deal making?
There are myriads of conflict-of-interest issues in the future, but my guess is without Donald Trump to steer the H.H.Trump ship, it won't be smooth sailing despite all the insider information and opportunities that may be available.

(18,124 posts)but it's probably a pipe dream. As fuhrer-potus- in waiting he WILL enrich himself further and to our detriment.

(8,998 posts)Whatever calamity he inflicts on any business will be treated and tweeted as if its a triumph. Bigly.
America has been deluded by the RW and the DP was asleep while they gerrymandered boundaries, suppressed votes, rigged ballots, took over States etc
Apart from nuclear weapons being used my fear is that he will use his powers to steal enough to actually be a billionaire. Watch the Post Office hotel business conflict.
Do not think he will ever allow his tax returns to be shown to us.

(25,456 posts)Plus, he'll be much more personally involved than he's claiming. Though, in the past, that's often lead to failure, so I'm not sure his kids could do any worse.

(4,835 posts)Nixon won, so many people were happy. Agnew was incredibly popular.
Then things just kind of unwound. I expect it'll look like that.
My Facebook friends that are Trump supporters have been pretty vocal, and the Hillary supporters have been pretty quiet. At some point it will occur to them (Trump supporters) that not only is he not going to do anything for them, he doesn't even make sense most of the time.
Trump seems to these people (I assume) as though he's a successful business person (because he played one in tv) but he's a scum bag, and it'll be obvious to a lot of people once he gets started.
I think it'll all fall apart within the next year.

(21,020 posts)are getting even nastier now than they were before the election with their racist/stereotypical comments and sharing of memes.
They're also still going on about Hillary, as if the campaign season were still active. Hello? It's OVER!! Why can't they just quietly enjoy their victory without being dickheads about it?
And I use the term victory somewhat loosely, because, like you, I think that at some point they'll realize too late that what they got wasn't quite what they thought they were getting. I'm still seeing where people are peeing themselves in glee over that wall he claimed would be built.
Earth to Trumpies... There won't BE a wall, and certainly not one that Mexico will pay for.
Boy, won't it just frost their skivvies when they find there's no way to stop the people they hate from coming into the country.

(4,835 posts)Most of them just seem to believe that he's gonna do some 'thing' to improve their lives.
They won't say what they think that 'thing' is, they just know that it's going to be good for them.

(4,835 posts)He didn't challenge that, so perhaps it's more.
Bankruptcies (like losing large sums of money during economic booms) is among those things he does that makes him so smart.
