Recount began this AM in WI and I was doing so well

I have been so hopeful and not crying anymore. Well, I stayed late at the gym. 5:30-9AM and Kate, who I have not seen since the election, comes in and greets me and just starts bawling. I did not need that. She said Jody this is the end. We cannot be naive. This is how it started in Germany. I said I am grabbing onto any shred of hope like the recounts and audits and college that he will never make it into the WH. She replied he is in for good. We have to face it. So, now I feel like maybe I am a dope??? She said there are no heroes anymore... that is true. A stupid and uninformed electorate have given us this man. I took a few steps backwards and it doesn't feel good. Kate and I are both firebrands in our city. We eat breathe and sleep politics. To see her so defeated like I was for 2 weeks leaves me shaky again.

I saw something this morning that there are 12 electors now who refuse to vote for the orange one. It is possible that electors are contacting each other privately. We still have 18 days until they have to cast their ballots for that loser, so maybe more will grow a conscience.

I am afraid to hope but I do pray a lot.

to deep and piercing pain.

The recounts offered a grain of tiny fragile hope - but in my heart of hearts, I feel it the way a pediatrician must when telling a parent their child has a terminal condition. The small, tiny, cruel hope that remains because there's always one that beats the odds, some way . . . but I feel the pain of that coming loss acutely.

It is the loss of all of us.

My first baby granddaughter was born 2 days before this election. It was supposed to be a different world for her. A better one.

We have not yet resolved to leave, but we are considering it.

because we have the Walker crooked mafia too. It was bearable with President Obama in office, but now we have nowhere to turn. No Governor, no Legislature and a crooked Wisconsin Supreme Court. It's horrid.

It's like watching a hurricane come toward you (Bush). Sometimes the storm shifts away (Obama) and you get some hope but it soon is barreling down on you again, stronger than ever (Trump).

Am I going to be that old man shaking the fist at the sky proclaiming that no storm is going to drive him from his house and risk losing it all or will I be the scared man who scoops up his fiancee and kid, loads them in the car with a couple bags of clothes and flees to safer digs?

We are on the verge of inaugurating a man that makes Barry Goldwater look like a flaming liberal.

I know some folks love the Good Ol' USA (including some on here) but staying, for me an my family, is becoming less and less a viable option. All I ask is that the "Okay then go!" crowd have as much respect for my opinion as I do for theirs.

Not sure what else he could have done to throw it.

Unfortunately, if/when these recounts don't change anything - they will give it legitimacy.
