what are you going to do on Inauguration day?

I'm going to the movies but haven't decided what to go see. I am going to see "Loving" soon with a friend (I'm up for a nice love movie right about now) but haven't decided what to see the day that monster is inaugurated...

MHz Worldview was my introduction to this genre (as well as Aussie Rules Football, the latter sadly no longer covered).

Sadly, my antenna rotor died, so I can no longer receive the PBS channel that broadcasts MHz Worldview.

BTW, the NHK (Japanese network) coverage of the earthquake/tsunami was superb, and MHz covered it very well.

Sorry to hear about the surgery.

How long after the first surgery did it take you to feel like it was "normal"? How long did you wait to do it? How long did you put
off this one?

I ask because I just saw the x-rays for the first time Tuesday of my left knee: bone on bone.

Fri Dec 2, 2016, 05:21 PM
Dec 2016

The recovery is long.........months long. Lots of PT.

I am so glad I did it. My left knee was bone on bone too, and damn but it hurt. I had trouble standing or walking. After the surgery, those problems vanished. It was months, maybe most of a year, before I felt normal.

But it was worth it!

With my right knee now, it just recently got pretty bad, even with the steroid shots. I realized that my life was miserable with this pain, and I told my ortho doc that enough was enough, and let's just replace it! He was fine with it.

I really didn't put it off at all. I remembered how bad my left knee got before we operated, and I didn't want to go through that again. I know I will recover again and even though it's going to hurt for a while, it will ultimately pay off. I'm really tired of limping around like an old woman!

You should seriously do it. Your life will be on hold for several months but you will feel so much better. The post-op pain is readily handled with judicious use of narcotics. Best of luck to you!

I'll be working all day. When I'm done with the work day, I will meet some colleagues at a local pub for burgers and beer before heading home. Once home, I'll clean the barn and feed the horses; at that point, I'll feel some satisfaction that my barn holds less manure than the White House from that point forward. I'll go in the house, make dinner, call my family to confirm Saturday's family plans, and curl up with a book. Neither the tv nor the computer will be active.

But if he is, I will continue with life and avoid ALL media. I am so thankful I made the decision to get rid of cable years ago. It had helped to keep the garbage out of the house.

Providing, of course, that the ones that voted for him don't run him out of office when they realize how badly they were scammed.
