Were going to throw everything at him that he threw at us, said one longtime Democratic operative.

After most campaigns the combatants share cocktails and swap war stories but the bitter 2016 battle for the White House is turning into a forever war with Hillary Clintons tormented team vowing a four-year insurgency against Donald Trump.
There are no consolation prizes from a loss as humbling and catastrophic as the heavily-favored Clinton suffered on Nov. 8. But for her aides, there is a measure of liberation, freedom from the constraints of having to defend their flawed, awkward front-runner and adopt the hell-to-pay role of insurgents.

And Clintons vast network of supporters, staffers and operatives is now looking for a way to fight back without their standard-bearer modeled on the resistance movement organized by the GOP in the wake of President Barack Obamas victory in 2008, the Republicans Party of No period.
Clinton allies like David Brock have been actively recruiting Democratic donors to fund an anti-Trump movement modeled on the armada of organizations that sued, flacked, opposition-researched and insulted Clinton into a 55 percent disapproval rating. Trump is already there, but Brock and other Democratic operatives are contemplating a Freedom of Information Act barrage against the president-elect comparable to the one undertaken against Clinton by the conservative group Judicial Watch. Other left-leaning groups, including the Center for American Progress, are looking into ways of holding Trump accountable for his job-creating campaign promises possibly by disseminating reports on the presidents record directly to voters and media into swing states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan that swung surprisingly to Trump.

(15,543 posts)The Republicans met to plot their obstruction as soon as Obama was elected. Republicans wasted no time whatsoever in plotting then heaving their Perpetual Stink Bomb at America and it's duly chosen leader, President Barack Obama.

(297,130 posts)Could be and we sorely need it however the dems do have a habit of announcing their plans ahead of time when an element of surprise would be more effective. Some say they are testing the waters, but I think from now on we stop being afraid and forge ahead and let the Cons scramble for a counter tactic.

Freedom of Information Act requests on Putin and Assange's meddling should be broadcast loud and clear also.

(5,443 posts)The GOP knocked her favorability ratings down to the 30's. That gave Trump his chance. If she was at 50 or above it would have been a landslide, with Hillary taking lots of red states.

(293 posts)really good, it isn't a secret plan and everyone would know. We should submit to a very trusted group and they can pass them on to the DNC or whom ever cause, actually, I think my ideas are good and I don't want to post them where the world can see.
Keep everything away from the Russians and Wikileaks.

(9,760 posts)I hope they, or someone influential, will also see the need for and implement a massive positive propaganda campaign to promote the philosophies and policies of liberal Democrats.
A huge number of voters opposed President Obama and Hillary Clinton based on lies and distortions. We have got to figure out how to get the facts to the people. Sure, some are lost forever to the RW alternate universe, but many can be enlightened. It will take a lot of money and talent to design and implement such a program, but it's absence has cost us dearly.
