The next four years under Trump will be the most dangerous for democracy and the bill of rights this country has ever seen since the depths of the great depression in the 30's, IMO.

At a minimum I expect at least one major war(may go nuclear as well) if not more, a great recession/depression after Dump starts throwing up trade barriers all over the place and insulting various countries, millions upon millions with zero health care, an all out assault on Social Security and Medicare, privatization of everything including roadways, a Deportation Force roaming the land, kicking down doors in the middle of the night, DEA/Federal enforcement of MJ laws overriding the express will of the people in states that made it legal, the ending of all environmental protection laws ie Flint drinking water for all, many more fracking earthquakes, national parks sold off to the highest bidding clear-cut, strip mining company, repeal of the Federal minimum wage, bye bye OSHA...dept of Education..all restraints on Wall Street speculators gone.

A bubble Bull economy for a time but when it bursts there will be no stopping it, the republicans have all the power in this country in their greedy blood soaked hands. They wanted the entire US Auto industry to crash and burn the last time, remember? No one can stop them next time.

Here is the secret...republicans want to see the world burning because they make sooo much money on it!

All Trump needs is a great depression or a 9-11 or a Murrah Federal Building terror attack on the USA to seize total dictatorial power, his damn voters will demand it!

But hey, this can't happen here right?

Right???

14. Serious question..
Sat Dec 3, 2016, 02:27 PM
Dec 2016

How do you face your fears? I used to freeze, and just allow whatever I was frightened of wash over me or attack me. That changed last summer, I was praying for the water, feeling overwhelmingly afraid of what might happen, and then the worst happened, my fellow Americans used attack dogs to stop us from praying, all for greed and malicious intent. It changed me it changed me for life!

We fight to change it, we don't accept what they are about, we don't freeze, we don't walk away hoping someone else takes care of it. We stand in our truth, our power being that truth. We hold out our hands for the ones who are getting abused, we come together and link our arms and be united. Don't be quiet, even if you shake, (like I am doing now typing this, lol!) voice your truth! Growth always comes after chaos, whether it is personal or global. People are rising...the evil like the cheeto elect and other like him, can not grow if they are not fed with what they seek....fear, anger, hatred...they disappear.

People like the cheeto elect, the power they seek is not real, true power doesn't come from money or how much praise they get or who worships them, they are terrified of true power, they will never know true power. You have that, all of us with a connection to truth has it.

Laugh at them, that pisses people like that off, they want your fear, they feed off of it. I am very much aware that we may not make it through the next four years, yet, I intend to fight fight like mad and with truth. I plan on calling out lies, from the media, from the ignorance, from everything. And use social media to do it! We managed to get a huge movement started with social media around the world and look at what is happening!

So laugh, dear Horse with no name, laugh!

because I own my own home---despite the fact that it isn't convenient for work or where I want to live, it is paid for. I had hoped to sell and move to a more desirable place. That is on hold now.
I am a healthcare worker. If Medicare and Medicaid and Obamacare goes away, healthcare jobs will go away OR become lower wage jobs for those that aren't eliminated.
I have private insurance but all commercial plans go the way of Medicare. If Medicare is decimated, my commercial plan will be as well. I have chronic illness and use my insurance.
Each person's livelihood and well being will be affected by this tangerine megalomaniac no matter how secure they are sitting currently.

Sat Dec 3, 2016, 03:21 PM
Dec 2016

I'm in Idaho right now, don't like the people much, but I am in a situation like you. I own my home and getting too old to start all over. Have you considered going independent with your abilities? We need to change the way things work, if there is a chance to get out of the cycle of insurance and dependencies we have with it then we should. I know that not everybody can, but if we break away from any of it and supply others a way to break away, then the insurance companies will panic and change will happen.

I hate to constantly bring this up, but like I said it changed my life. One thing I learned at my times with Oceti Sakowin Camp, was people are craving to be done with it all, to bring real change. I saw Dr.'s, Nurses, Veterinarians, Chef's etc. all professionals, help others with need. It was tribal living on a mass scale. I saw a toothless poor Native American showing a Phd, how to run barefoot on the land so they don't stub their toes. Simple I know, but it is an art! I saw that same Native man, go to a doctor to get the pepper spray out of his eyes. That;s the way things need to work, you have to start small, just a few people but it will grow. But, it can happen in all communities. We have to remember the way our ancestors did things. My white Great grandfather had a ranch, he would trade some cows to people who would fix his fence. I have my own water and land, I am working on a communal garden, and sharing with my neighbors who all have full time jobs and are stuck in a rut with eating bad food. They in turn, take care of my animals when I need to be out of town, no cash is exchanged, just barter. Then on a greater scale, my land is used for Native American Church and a stopover for weary travelers. That is all I can offer, but it works. When I need cash to pay my bills, the clients that I have who can afford it, pay with cash. It starts small, but it should start right away.

If we want change to happen on a grander scale, we have to start with change on smaller scales. And we all know that if we don't change, we will not survive what is coming. We need to get out of the mindset that money is power and bring back the mindset that knowledge is power.

If you are ever in Idaho, why I wouldn't know, lol, but come and have tea with me, sit in an inipi (sweat lodge to you) and remember your ancestors. We are all in this together, it's time we remember that.

I'm now considering working longer so I can save more to pay for our medical care in the catastrophic world that the repugs are making. What did he tweet overnight? What are his plans for the day? Who did he infuriate in the last 8-10 hours when he wasn't being unsupervised? IS ANYONE supervising him? Someone mentioned that they haven't had a good night's rest since he was elected. I thought it had to do with DST, but I now realize it is probably because of Trump since I think of him all day and night...the possibilities of how he'll use his power. Good grief, look at what he's doing now and he isn't even IN the WH.

I downsized this year and got a bridge loan on my old house (paid for) until I was finished remodeling the new house. Now, both are in jeopardy as I've just now put it up for sale. In my wildest dreams, I didn't consider a situation like this in the country. Yes, I am damned frightened that I could lose my homes and savings, but my one hope is that the majority won't let him get by with his shenanigans. Look at the number of people (even those in high places) who are trying to figure out a way to keep him out of the Oval Office. Surely, there are ways to do so.

I may be even more frightened of the Republican party. It pains me no end to see the glee on McConnell and Ryan's faces. They haven't done diddily in the last 8 years, but I can just see the hive humming now that they are facing 4 years of absolute power. I'm hoping Trump is blowing hot air and will back away from some of these asinine ideas of his, but a little birdie is tweeting in my ear that I'm the one full of it...it's full steam ahead for Trump.

I have to say that I am disappointed in the Democrats for not being more vocal in pointing out to Trump that he can't do these things...act this way. Congress should be disciplining their own, but aside from Graham and McCain, I haven't heard much. At least the congresscritters could be standing with tradition as far as how our government works and put the brakes on him. How is Trump allowed to make these phone calls to other leaders or tweet insults to citizens before he is even inaugurated? God help us when he is fully installed. We're royally screwn~

Facts and arguments will make no difference. The only hope is massive disobedience, which probably won't happen with a docile conformist population and absolute media control. Because they can reach Alaska, Washington and Oregon states does NOT mean they can hit it. Our missile defense system would likely prevent such a brazon attack, and the repercussions to North Korea would be certain annihilation.
I'm just saying. I live in Washington state, and my children, grand children and family and friends ALL live in Oregon and Washington; so I don't take this lightly. But this lunatic will need to be dealt with before he is even capable of attacking the USA. In 2004 I understood the causes and implications of global climate change, as well as the evolved human behaviour that won't let us stop before we do ourselves in. I promptly freaked out and ran in circles trying to wake people up. Nobody wanted to hear it, and I was relentlessly mocked for being a doomer. Trump is just another milestone on our journey toward the inevitable.

One election and you're all chewing your nails? I hate to tell you, but the world - including the Benighted States of America - has been facing far larger demons for far longer, but has remained blissfully oblivious to the patently obvious. Hair Furor (Ha! Love that nickname!) is simply one of Medusa's many heads. You might think of him as America's version of jihad at the limits to growth.
