Seth Moulton and Katherine Clark. Democrats from Massachusetts.
I know it's a long shot, but if Donald Trump can win so can they.

(25 posts)The last 2 democrats to win the white house were in their 40's. US presidential elections are very kind to the party who runs an opponent more than 15 years younger than their opponent. I don't think we should run people in their 70s.

(13,390 posts)There is only one instance where there was a measurable age difference when the younger candidate lost and Carter had a confluence of variables working against him that would have made it nearly impossible for anyone.
We know Reagan left the WH with Alzheimers. The odds of the body breaking down in ways that matter increase with age. Logically, it just makes sense to nominate a president who is young enough that they won't reach average life expectancy while in office.

(7,596 posts)I don't think it's asking too much to at least have a candidate who wasn't born in the damn 1940s.

(25 posts)Whenever there is a generational gap the younger candidate wins. Trump will be the oldest politician to have ever run for the presidency when he runs for re-election. A massively flawed 45 year old could win easily.
I think Rubio would have won 45 states against Hillary.
I think Harold Ford Jr (not my favorite) would have won 45 states against Trump.
