Being A Veteran Does Not Matter The American People Don't Give A Shit. F- The USA

Sorry, but I am really pissed. The American people talk a big game and wave the flag but by an large they do not give a crap about veterans. They really do not want any new taxes to help pay for disabled veterans. When it comes to privatizing the VA, veterans health care and certain parts of the military all there is is silence and indifference.

I guess it is "no big deal" that even disabled veterans will not have health care under the new GOP scheme to turn vets care into a worthless voucher. And it is no big deal they want to turn over the VA hospitals to corporations if you read the fine print. I guess it is no big deal that you scrap military retirement pensions and replace it with a 401K.

The GOP has already gutted veterans' employment assistance. And they have already weakened the entire VA system and broken it.

When it comes down to where the rubber meets the road the American people have deserted. Even the VFW and American Legion express "only concern" about the direction the GOP is taking with veterans' issues.

In another time the GOP politicians would actually be running for their lives literally. They would be in danger for messing with veterans. So now we will be sending troops into combat and they are on their own after serving. They can sell pencils and poppies on the street corner like was done in days gone by.

Screw The USA if the GOP gets its way.

I really hope I'm correct on this....I think that Veterans themselves will protest to if privatization takes place.
I talk to other vets when I'm at my VA hospital. So many are very conservative but say that thier health care takes top place.
I'm in Michigan and go to Ann Arbor VA

Young poor men fighting rich old men's war.s a very few making serious bank out of the military industrial complex. It's a very old story. They don't give a fuck, never have. Vets are invisible mostly, trotted out as window dressing or a useful tool to quell dissent or advertising. Colin Kapernick takes a knee during the national anthem.? ..an affront to the vets who suddenly "own" the flag. Students at Dartmouth don't want to display the flag after Trump? Send in the vets who "fight for our freedom" how ironic. How about freedom of expression and dissent? Vets and military are false patriotism used by the fat cats in this country, by any country really.

in the DAPL protest, so yeah, I think we're all pretty familiar with that cynical, ideological rant you're offering,
but, like most of those, it's only partially true.

A lot of Americans DO care about vets, including my husband and I who both volunteer and give money to virtually every vets organization in the country and we are certainly not alone -- I know the old anti-war 'young men fighting rich old mien's war" but it's not so black and white as that...As for Colin Kapernick, as far as I know, he's STILL taking the knee during the national anthem, so his 'freedom of expression' is NOT being stopped -- That being said, others are allowed THEIR 'freedom of expression' in displaying their displeasure with it.

Veterans overwhelmingly supported Trump. Now the chickens will come home to roost, and I can't give a shit. I feel really badly for those veterans who need assistance, and those that opposed Trump, but veterans will cease voting Republican only when they are harmed significantly by Republican policies. It's really too bad for them.

or Farmaid.

Not my problem.

I fully support land developers if they want to move out into the lesser populated areas. Build and bring in more population.
It is the only way to change those small right wing communities.

This kind of unreasonable antagonism toward people I'm one of, like Democrats, is offensive and counterproductive. And somewhat less than clever.

A lot of civilians resented the fact that vets got preference on jobs. They thought veterans were upitty. I worked around and with veterans programs for years. Except for WWII veterans were screwed every time. And the worst were Republicans who always cut money for veterans care.

Americans really do not care about veterans. They say thanks but words are cheap. Veterans are now the last in line when it comes to hiring. The GOP has pretty much killed programs that helped vets find work. I see little outrage from the population with the initiatives to privatize the VA.

So get used to it. I am a vet and have first hand knowledge of how veterans have been treated. When I worked at a homeless shelter in the 1990's and we had a lot of homeless veterans.

Now if you have not served you really are not qualified to speak to my experience. If you have served then you are really blind to reality and the facts.

Whatever "a lot of civilians" is, it's a drop in the bucket of 200,000,000 workers. Resentful personalities will always look for wrongs, real or imagined, to feed their fire and, of course, make the most of them.

may be stuck with no income at all. When you can't work, WTF are you supposed to do? Just die? The GOP probably thinks so. Trump says he is friends of the US Veteran but really, he will probably turn the whole entire VA over to someone clueless like Sarah Palin who will look the other way when money going to veterans is turned into money for the Pentagon to buy weapons with, for the next war down the road.

It was just Thursday that I was supposed to hate vets because they are Republican voting racists. The upcoming cuts to the VA were their just desserts.

Now a few days later I should feel sorry for vets and hate the USA for not caring for them.

Give me a little time to focus my hate before I have to sympathize with the plight of the hated and hate others.
