No action from Guam Democrats yet on San Nicolas' treachery
Despite concerns raised over Sen. Mike San Nicolas refusal to sign the Democratic Partys unity pledge prior to this years elections, the senator-elect was invited to caucus scheduled for Saturday, when the legislative majority was supposed to select several open leadership spots.
Following the Primary Election, State Party Chairman Joaquin Perez criticized San Nicolas for not signing the Unity Pledge, which was a vow to support Democratic candidates who ran for office.
In a letter to Democratic Party members leading up to their September meeting, Perez referred to San Nicolas action as treachery.
San Nicolas has said that he refused to sign the pledge because he believed that the party should have focused on the issues of the islands voters rather than supporting politicians.
