I've lost reception due to thunderstorms overhead once in a while.
Usually for a few seconds up to a minute or two.

This year I've lost the signal for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour, while YUUUUGE systems move through.

I recall a hair-raising ride to run from a tornado bearing down on Memphis in December, 1979.

It was terrifying.

But if it becomes a new normal, December tornadoes every year or three, then it would be another signal that something unusual is happening.

I can't remember which, and once tried to find a historic record of it...and stumbled on to a great site:

http://www.tornadohistoryproject.com/tornado/Alabama/December/table

Seems like every 3-4 years, there's a spurt of December tornadoes in Bama.
