Are Trump's international properties terror targets?

I've not heard it discussed, but I would think every gold plated Trump hotel, country club, and resort overseas is now a prime target for terror attacks and I shudder to imagine what would happen when one is hit.

Even more than an attack against western capitalism, it would be a strategic end to getting under President Trump's skin and an rage fueled overreaction would be a given. First he would lash out on Twitter, painting the attack as one against every American and freedom itself, but it won't end there when he controls the world's most powerful military.

I'm sure he'd name Islam as an enemy of the US and thereby handing terrorists the ultimate recruiting tool. They could say that Trump is declaring war against their religion and they wouldn't be far off. I don't think congress has the stomach to be drawn into another Iraq war, but there are many vengeful actions Trump could take. I'll leave it to others to ponder those global peace shattering actions.

Which leads to the next question: How many wars are we going to launch to defend the integrity of Trump's properties? In 2001, terrorists targeted two very specific building complexes: The World Trade Center in New York, representing America's financial capital; and the Pentagon, America's military capital. When they attack Trump properties, you know that the Trump administration will lose their collective shit, and insist that America go to war.

Is there anybody here who'd like to wrap the flag around an early grave? (H/t Phil Ochs)

I'm sure the Donald would call it "The Kick Their Asses Bigly and Bomb the Shit Out of Them War" but I don't think the name will stick.

While a domestic attack would be disastrous, a foreign attack would create unique problems. Would Trump try to deploy Navy Seals to handle security and to whom would he mete out revenge?

Such an attack would be very personal to Trump, but not so much to Congress. I'm not sure what would happen.

Bush's WH attorney Richard Painter has written about it:

But it also presents a global security risk. A building branded with the name of an American president — any president, but perhaps especially Mr. Trump — would be a tempting target for terrorists and other enemies of the United States. Who is going to protect the buildings? Will the Trump organization hire a security firm to do the job, or will the American taxpayer be on the line for the bill? Will foreign governments offer to pay to secure the properties — a subsidy of the Trump organization that would probably violate the Emoluments Clause? If a terrorist attack, a botched security operation or some other tragedy happens on a Trump property, the United States could easily get drawn into a conflict abroad. And our adversaries know this. This is one of the most dangerous aspects of Mr. Trump’s conflict-of-interest problem.
