I find the notion of Trump receiving people in his golden palace atop of his gaudy tower bizarre.

Yes, sure, I'm sure all President-elects meet with a wide variety of visitors and dignitaries following their election. That's probably fairly normal, IMHO. That's not really the point here, though.

But this just feels....different. Like he's expecting people to come up and kiss the king's ring. He's setting up this type of royal image about himself already. It's off-putting and confirming what type of persona I worried he'd create around himself.

Yes, it reminds of kiss-my-ring scenes in Mafia movies. JHan Dec 2016 #1

This whole election was more about his enormous ego than actually serving in office.

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’"

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

If the press would go away and stop reporting the comings and goings of the ass kissers, he'd get his naming over with and we could carry on trying to figure out how we can avoid the end of life on the planet (short term - nuclear war, long term - climate change).
