I Don't understand quitting in protest

I Don't understand quitting in protest. I hear of many people who are leaving government positions or quitting their jobs in protest of Trump or employers backing Him. It seems to me it would make more sense to stay and to work for change from a position of influence than to step aside and let more of the wrong people take positions that can harm our nation.

I understand not wanting to work in a hostile work environment. Quitting also sometimes makes the news and lets people know there are those who feel strongly about those issues. Then they fill the positions with people who are helping their agenda and are all to often not qualified for the job.

I am deeply committed and determined to do what I can to right the course of humanity and our planet

They are leaving because Progressives have the leadership now and they are too busy fighting about who in the new leader of the DNC to worry about Trump.
