Why right-leaning fake news is a danger to us all.

This rant is based on the report that the Pizzagate guy regrets "how he handled the situation but refused to completely dismiss the false online claims involving a child sex ring that brought him there." He stated that "I just wanted to do some good and went about it the wrong way,"

You see, he was just a nice guy who had so much goodness in him, that he was pushed to act in a violent way. If his story was made into a movie, Mel Gibson would be cast for the part, because many of Gibson's movies involve nice, usually law abiding people, who had a reason to seek restitution for some wrong that they had suffered. It's a crazy coincidence, that one of those movies was called The Patriot.

And I think that demonstrates the problem we're faced with. We have mean-spirited right-wing operatives who are spreading false information, tapping into the troubled souls of angry white men, who just want to lash out at something. And, sadly, everything about our country entitles them to think that way. Throughout our society, we glorify all things military, which extends into our civil society because of the 2nd Amendment. They have guns and they know how to use them. Just nice guys and gals and none of us know when they will decide to get the hankering to do some "good" in the world. But I can tell you this as a PoC: they say things off the cuff about their guns that I wouldn't even dream of thinking. And many of you who have been in a bar, or at one of their family dinners, has heard them too.

That's why it's imperative that we bring people to justice who spread ugly lies that result in triggering these Gibson type Patriots. These right-leaning Gibson types are not mentally ill, they are just trapped in a society that thrives on prejudice and discrimination and a hatred for Democrats. Because, let's face it, Pizzagate started by a right-wing online site that was trying to disrupt a Democratic donor. It's an effective way to stop the money flow into the Democratic party, by letting everyone know how they can become targets of a false news operation if they have too much of a profile.

Pizza shop gunman says he regrets how he handled situation

SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) — The man accused of firing an assault rifle inside a Washington restaurant said he regrets how he handled the situation but refused to completely dismiss the false online claims involving a child sex ring that brought him there.

"I just wanted to do some good and went about it the wrong way," Edgar Maddison Welch, who's been jailed since his Sunday arrest, told The New York Times in a Wednesday videoconference.

Welch, 28, told the newspaper he started driving to Washington from his Salisbury, North Carolina, home intending only to give the Comet Ping Pong pizza restaurant a "closer look." But while on the way, he said he felt his "heart breaking over the thought of innocent people suffering."

Welch would not say why he brought an AR-15 into the pizza shop and fired it, the newspaper reported.

Asked what he thought when he found there were no children in the restaurant, Welch said: "The intel on this wasn't 100 percent." But he would not completely dismiss the online claims while talking to the newspaper, conceding only that there were no children "inside that dwelling."

A heartfelt speech from Trump of the dangers of Fake news--would be a start. (not counting on it).

without factual basis and are meant to stoke illegal behavior. I think these boundaries need to be established since social media can spread lies faster than any media we have had in the past.
