if you are going to have all your hosts as democrats/progressives (for the most part) - why continue to shine a light on this egomaniac?
i mean going live to his victory speeches? why?

(28,394 posts)Now I don't miss them at all. I subscribed to the NYT online and get my LBN news from DU, twitter and FB. Instead of watching the evening shows, I have been reading and watching old BBC series on Netflix. Much better for the nerves and the brain!
For those who aren't sure about cutting the cord.... There IS life after MSNBC!

(5,815 posts)since the election is Joy Reid. I watched her one morning a couple of weeks ago. I have no desire to watch any program on any NBC station now that Trump is now not only on their "news" shows every hour of every day, but now will (once again) be a paid employee of the network.

We need a populous movement within the Democratic party. Had a chance to see Bernie and the union leader together. WOW. Listening to the Union Leader, he has it together. He, appears to have his business together, not tRump.

He gets his dillusioned 20% to come out and cheer him on, creating the illusion on TV he is lovingly adored by all of America.
The dillusion to illusion feeds his ego, and gives the likes of Kellyanne the juice to spout her fast-talking, trunculant propaganda.
It makes me sick. All of it.

(67,086 posts)AM radio by hate shows/news, the internet, and here FM radio, and even shortwave radio. I often wonder the same.
Is it just endemic to the human psychic to prefer hateful things, is that the motivating factor to listen/watch. Fox News certainly used that to the hilt. Hate seems to be an attention grabber, probably something to do with primordial instincts.
When I used to be in NYC back in the days of newspapers hawked widely, paperboys didn't shout about niceties to sell the papers, but the latest usually outrageous stuff.
Sadly, I've come to the conclusion hate sells well, and that is why we don't see much for progressive networks.

(63,799 posts)Yes, all fine and good everyone is turning off their coverage of the news, but it is vital we get our news in other arenas such as Democracy Now, Free Speech TV. To have an un-informed citizens in a country is very dangerous.
