James Mattoon Scott (fictional) vs. James Mattis (all too real)

Today is Kirk Douglas's 100th birthday. I can't think of a single film of his I don't like, but these days, I'm thinking of "Seven Days In May," in which Douglas plays a heroic Marine colonel who helps bring down an attempted military coup by a group of high-ranking officers. Those officers are led by an arrogant, right-wing general, played with chilling effect by Burt Lancaster; his character goes by the name of General James Mattoon Scott. And here we are today, with an incompetent loser loading up his proposed cabinet with more generals every day---one of them being General James Mattis. Even the names are similar......
