This paragraph from the WP Russia story disturbs me

By mid-September, White House officials had decided it was time to take that step, but they worried that doing so unilaterally and without bipartisan congressional backing just weeks before the election would make Obama vulnerable to charges that he was using intelligence for political purposes.

Does the President seriously think that being accused of using intelligence for political purpose is something the repukes wouldn't do or worse?

Does he think his image could be any worse with their side?

When will the Dems wake up,and realize you don't play nice with scumbags and traitors?

I am pissed. The buck stops with him.

True

However I think Obama believed in all of his heart (and his polling) that Hillary would win the EC

Then in late January the ass kicking would start

But there's also the very real danger of getting Shitler's base even more fired up. Obama is every bit the magnet of Republican hatred that the Clintons are.

And I would agree that his making these announcements days before the election would have looked like a partisan political ploy on his part. This also would not have been helpful to the Democratic cause.

Sometimes there is damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Better to wait, gather all the proof, and try to get it presented to the people in the right manner. The President is not really a "shoot from the hip" kind of politician. I sure hope he knows what he's doing this time.

He needed to have it be a bipartisan effort in order for the idiots in the country to understand it was serious and not partisan.

They would be burning crosses on the White House lawn.

This should have been run by the smartest "marketing" minds in the WH and packaged and presented to the public in a way that would not appear to be "partisan politics." The public had a right to know. Would it have changed the election? I'm not sure; but the public still had a right to know.

But when McConnell and a few other GOP clowns refused to agree to let it go public....Obama should have:

A) Made the information public on his own. and

B) Revealed the names of the GOP Congressmen who didn't want it made public.

So what if he was accused of being partisan. I think the public could have made up their own mind about who the a**holes really are.

That the Russians did this. They are vile. I will not piss on Obama's back for this. Russia's goal was to favor that maggot over Clinton. Obama didn't do it - they did. Putin should get the same treatment Castro did. He's as much a vile maggot as that five deferment wimp - Trump. Vile maggots.
