So unless there some NEW evidence not related to the charges he was already convicted of, there is nothing to give a closer look to.

I happen to think that the reason he got such a relatively light punishment was that the administration did NOT want a trial, since under the law Petraeus's lawyers would have been allowed to question a lot of fairly powerful people under oath.
