Because if he does, especially internationally, we are headed for a world of hurt, and possibly war.

Ruin Medicare and Social Security, start wars both around the world and across the states.

Come after you if you speak up against him. No choice, no decent school system.

So many fears I can't pick just one.

last couple years of republicans screaming at busses of kid refugees and the 'for profit' detention prisons refugees are held in today, the 'for profit prisons who pay corporate workers 20 cents an hour- are just a taste of what's to come soon.

I fear an increase in hate crimes and people getting away with it.

That. Or any other of the "post-apocalyptic" movies that have come out over the years. That those will become our new reality thanks to a Trump temper tantrum.

and laugh, we will be seen as nothing more than a bunch of self-indulgent suckers, unreliable for anything but failing to appreciate the nation we are throwing away. My boomer generation is already diminishing, we won't be here to see the worst consequences; those things will happen to our kids and grandchildren; our great-grandkids will be adults before the nation climbs out of the pit Trump and the republicans will create.

a systematic looting of our Treasury, public lands sold off for a song, massive voter suppression, the rounding up of Muslims, Mexicans and eventually, Jews (they always make the list), pay for play corruption that makes the Teapot Dome scandal look like a church bake sale.
And the American people, especially Republicans and their representatives, will go along with it all without a single word of opposition.

It will be open season on PoC & women. There will be no legal recourse & we will have to fight & die.
It's been happening since the founding & we had a brief simmering of the violent nature in this country but the black president caused the fever to flare up, they are going mad with it.
We have a huge military & lots of money so no matter what deranged foreign policy trump comes up with, we will get through it. But what do we do if Trump fuels the fire here & we find out the fighting in the street we've witnessed so far are just skirmishes leading to the bigger war?

I think we're all in agreement the guy is a thug. The problem is, his thuggishness is starting to rub off on children. And exactly how are we supposed to present antibullying education with a straight face when the worst bully in America got elected president of the United States a month ago?

The guy is a total disaster waiting to happen for the country and the world.

I suppose nuclear war is at the top of the list, but other fears have greater certainty, and foremost
among them is the rise of fascism as the form of government in a country that will have once been
fondly known as a democracy to be envied around the world.

Mind you, I don't think this will happen but the fact that I could suggest that it could ever happen it very troubling.

Realization that we're collectively doomed? Absolutely.

We need to plan the next stage. I don't have time for fear.
