North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory will be leaving his office in Jan. 2017 after losing his re-election bid to his Democratic opponent Roy Cooper, and he seems to believe he will have a role in the Trump administration, the Charlotte Observer reports.

A source close to President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team said Tuesday, “They’re definitely going to take care of him.” The source asked to remain unnamed.

The outgoing governor met with the president-elect last week Wednesday at Trump Tower, where he has been having his transition meetings.

McCrory attended various campaign rallies with the Trump camp over the last year. Trump called McCrory a “loyal Trump supporter from Day One,” last month.
