OUR Nuclear Option

If the Democratic Party does not take the Russian Hacking Scandal to a fever pitch and raise REAL HELL over this, NONE of us should give any more money to the party or individual candidates until they do!

I refuse to give money to a party that is pacifly letting the GOP get away with steal another election!

De-funding them is the only real power we have to start demanding change!

I don't want to say something about the party which would get my post removed, but in response to your post, I wouldn't expect much more fight than we're seeing at the moment, which is not much.

with the DNC, etc., etc. I also think TPTB should be screaming from the rooftops now, but I don't hear much. I'm afraid Trump will go into the WH in stride and this well might have been the last election. The GOP grabs and takes, right or wrong, while often the democrats stand by. I'll stop here now, but I recall the really tough democrats from way back, my father was one of them.

abandoned the hard core industrialized areas they used to support. When I was a kid the unions, blue collar and industrial areas were pretty much all hard working democrats. How that has changed. I'm not surprised Trump won those areas.

My uncle was also a union guy until he retired. It's crazy to think that the GOP has hijacked the narrative on who supports workers. I mean Trump hired a guy who wants to replace workers with machines as his Secretary Of Labor. And he hired a billionaire CEO to be Secretary of State. We need to do everything we can to win those workers back. Trump does not support blue collar values, and Hillary was painted as the elitist in the election. Trump is the elitist. He lives in a gold tower with his name on it and flies around in a jet with his name on it, and eats 24 courses for Thanksgiving at his private golf course. If that's not an elitist I don't know what is.

basically, hey, I feel your pain. What utter BS. This guy has assembled a golden tower of billionaire elitists to run this country for their and their cohorts profit. It has nothing to do with the future of the US for the good of the citizenry than to plunder the US for profit. I'm sure they emphasize with the little guy out of work sitting there on the curb waving a flag with a Trump hat on made in China. Is "Stupid" being added to some of our food supply or what!

The big club is no longer a myth. It's reality. The big club is led by the real enemies of the state - Vladimir Putin and Alaweed bin Halal. If Trump is allowed to be inaugurated, it will confirm the existence of the big club and they will do untold damage to our economy that we may never recover from.

And, he was right on target with the big club. Now, it's the big club on steroids. We really have no voice, our system is failing due to ignorance of the populace and misinformation spread for profit by fools like Alex Jones and similar.

don't quite get what's going on. Trump, sees the US as an investment for himself and his cronies. For some reason, many Americans are just too lame to get it. I left the DNC, because I just felt they have become very ineffective. It was my statement. Ha, I'm sure they noticed and cared. I also feel the DNC needs a house cleaning. IMO we need fresh faces, new ideas, etc.

I wish we could turn back time and stop Reagan from being elected. Because I feel that's where most of this anti-government bullshit originated from. I've seen videos of Reagan's campaign for governor of California from back in the 70s and even then he ran on a campaign and won because of that nonsense. The GOP wants to destroy the government and they might actually get to do it under Trump. What comes after that?

country as their territory. I've often said, look at parts of the world that live lives of hostilities, failed governments for all but the wealthy elitists, and that's the future of the US as this continues as the government is dismantled for sheer profit.

Now, we see the damn fools of this country have empowered those that only care about money and their self-enhancement. We're in for a disastrous future and I don't think the democrats or Independents have much leverage to add much controlling balance. The electorate and inane electoral college have given the engine and full throttle to the GOP who plans to drive most of US over the cliff. The GOP does not need the citizenry, really. The citizenry is not needed for the most part in the US and is in the way of the GOP power advance.

The last stop gap is the electoral college vote, but I doubt they have the guts to stop Trump and some probably welcome Trump as the savior from Hillary's horrific email server which many have said was more secure than the government servers. FFS, we are living in some kind of Stephen King novel.

as voting 3rd party or for DT or not voting at all. Yes, let's help the Rethugs achieve even greater majorities in state governments and the House and the senate.

I think you might have wandered into the wrong place; this is DU, not Stein underground.

Support Democrats

Do not post support for Republicans or independent/third-party "spoiler" candidates. Do not state that you are not going to vote, or that you will write-in a candidate that is not on the ballot, or that you intend to vote for any candidate other than the official Democratic nominee in any general election where a Democrat is on the ballot. Do not post anything that smears Democrats generally, or that is intended to dissuade people from supporting the Democratic Party or its candidates. Don't argue there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Wed Dec 14, 2016, 11:16 AM

the fact that the Dems in charge, the ones who are supposed to speak for us, by and large are simply quietly accepting what is happening?

That is the problem that many of us have. They (elected Dems) seem compliant, accepting, possibly because, for the most part, they are wealthy enough that what will happen to the rest of us will not affect them.

At this point, I don't see any way forward if no one at the top of the party is willing to fight for us. I'll probably keep donating, but I recognize that it is likely an exercise in futility.

If it's a genuine threat, that we would not support Democrats over Republicans if they fail to fight against Trump over this Hacking Scandal, than that is a net win for Trump - either we have enough power to deny Democrats public offices in which case, republicans might well get them or third party candidates might get them (who may or may not have any pull within the Party once the election is over), or we don't, but Democrats who get or retain office will have much softer support.

If it's not genuine, than saying we would do it might inspire some Democrats to fight Trump harder, but . . . they might also assume they can make deals with some Republicans or even Trump, and we'll eventually fall in line.

I don't see this strategy producing good results.
