Two talent bookers, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told the Wrap members of Trumps Presidential Inaugural Committee contacted them with offers of cash or even plush diplomatic posts in exchange for locking in singers.
One of the bookers said he almost dropped the phone when he heard the team members proposal. Never in a million years have I heard something so crazy, he said.
And hes not the only one. According to the Wrap, a second insider was offered an ambassadorship if he could land a big-name celebrity for the inaugural line-up. The second booker told the Wrap he knows at least two more people were offered government posts in exchange for finding big name talent for the ceremony.
They said they were in the process of figuring out posts, ambassadorships and commissions if that was of any interest, the manager said.

(82,849 posts)But I'm guessing that the Trump folks are just bright enough not to put their corruption in writing. Pro tip, though, for anyone who takes a call from these bandits: Get an automatic recording device for your phone, and tape all calls from them.

(6,930 posts)...I'm just going to mention that the denial came from inaugural committee "spokesperson Boris Epshteyn". What do we know about Boris Epshteyn? According to Wikipedia, "He was born and partly raised in the Soviet Union."
and
"In October 2013, Epshteyn helped moderate an investment event "Invest in Moscow!" The panel was composed mainly of Moscow city government officials, like Sergey Cheremin, a city minister who heads Moscows foreign economic and international relations department."
