So, umm, the Missouri high school video where the students turned their backs on the black team
My kid goes there.
Clothes-it was a theme night. The theme was Back to the Farm. The school has a strong FFA chapter so it's not an uncommon theme.
Backs turned-makes me angry but it's a tradition over a decade old. Kiddo isn't allowed and wouldn't do it anyway, calling it disrespectful. Clinton, Center and Smith-Cotton all cover their faces with programs or other pieces of paper when the opposing team is announced. As I said, not nice but not racist.
The sign-now that's the rub. The kid and a few around him are known asshole racists. The sign was taken away but supposedly they had others. They were not allowed into the game with them but had them folded inside their coats and in one case, not folded shoved down the front of the overalls they all wore for theme night. Little shits need to be punished.
Consequences? I don't know yet. I'm hoping there will be a number of consequences handed out over the next few days. One thing is for certain-yes, there are racists living in Warrensburg. Some of them are asshole teenage boys who think it's funny to show off at a public event. There are also good people living in the town who are appalled by what happened. They've contacted the administration and the school board, demanding answers. Those same citizens also were involved in this story from just last week.

I don't know what to do. I've had a hard time with what happened. I hate that those kids were idiots and that guests at our local school were treated poorly. I also hate seeing my kid get broadbrushed with their actions.
