Jerry Brown: If Trump turns off weather satellites, "California will launch its own damn satellite"

California Gov. Jerry Brown says California is “ready to fight” President-elect Donald Trump on climate change.

"We've got the scientists, we've got the lawyers and we're ready to fight," Brown said during a heated speech Wednesday night to the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Brown seized on comments from a top Trump adviser, who said the incoming administration plans to eliminate NASA's earth science programs. That end the use of satellites to gather climate information.

"If Trump turns off the satellites, California will launch its own damn satellite," Brown said.

The racist vote "won" (for tRump) ... maybe. We have two Democratic Senators and democrats usually do pretty well in state-wide elections. My congress critter is Sander Levin and all of my local reps are Democrats .... but .... as soon as leave Metro Detroit (or Flint, or Saginaw or the City of Grand Rapids proper) you truly enter right-wing nut job territory.

I think the Democrats here were complacent in the General election ... we thought Clinton would surely win against the buffoon. I think people stayed home because they thought it was a "done deal" for Clinton ... the crazies (and racist/ bigots) voted in force

Please take off the rose colored glasses. California is just as susceptible to Right Wing lunacy as every other State.

That's like saying Al D'Amato is emblematic of New York politics.

And Arnold's politics are nothing like Trump's.

"California is just as susceptible to Right Wing lunacy as every other State."

Ummm, no. We are a minority majority state. We have a Democratic supermajority in our state legislature, a Democratic governor, a Democratic House delegation, and two Democratic senators. Hillary beat Trump by over thirty points here.

You might as well argue Californians would vote for Ice Cube. After all, he's a movie and music star.

California is the most forward leaning state in the nation and all the obscurantism in the world can not obscure that fact.
