General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAs far as I'm concerned, on 01/20/2017, this country will cease to have a president at all.
They'll stick a loathsome, psychotic sexual predator in the White House and call him "president" but he certainly won't earn that title in any way, shape, or form. He's not going to lead this country and he's certainly not going to make it better. This scumbag has done nothing in his miserable life to help anyone. His sole reason for existing is to feed his massive ego and nothing else.
I don't think we've ever put a worse human being in the position of POTUS. He disgraces that office merely by setting foot in it. For me, until the day this revolting creature leaves the Oval Office, this country simply won't have a leader. I refuse to identify this disgusting excuse for a person as my President. Fuck him and fuck anyone who supports him

(4,858 posts)...Nixon? Probably the best analogy...but Tricky was smart, read a lot, and had a genuine streak of Tory Reformer. He was to some extent ruled by middle-class, small-town conservative-with-a-small-"c" values. LBJ was a prick, but he was smart, too, and while he was capable of pettiness and vendettas, wasn't mastered by them. Wilson was a racist--even for his time--and was both vindictive and unable to compromise. But he also had real concern for people, and was very smart. I can't think of anyone who approcahes Trump for sheer personal loathesomeness.

(28 posts)Mostly rooted in paranoia. But we can thank him for the EPA, the Clean Air Act, opening relations with China, affirmative action, and proposing a healthcare plan that was better ( i.e. More socialist) than Obamacare. However, that plan was killed by Democrats.

He will have the power of the President.
Call him whatever will make you feel better, but he'll still be President.

(7,596 posts)Apparently you missed the words "as far I'm concerned". Calling a racist sexual predator con man "president" is an honor he doesn't deserve and I refuse to partake in it. I will not normalize this toxic waste barrel of a human and neither should any other of the millions of people who oppose him.

(5,275 posts)Could not agree more. We can thank 20 years of Fox News, the election of a black guy, and the frightening dumbing down of America. It is all beyond frightening.

(23,820 posts)This is about so much more than Democrats vs Republicans. This is about basic human decency versus a complete lack thereof. Trump has no redeeming social value.
When I must refer to him at all I am calling him DFT - Donald Fucking Trump.

To me, he wasn't the president, he was the Resident.
Unnamed occupant of the White House, and in my mind, there's a huge hole between Clinton and Obama.
So now it starts again. The crevasse.
The black hole of Calcutta in our government. I can't stand looking at him, and I can't stand listening to him.
