So even though everyone agrees there was foreign interference in our election,

we're stuck with the results. There are no remedies. There is nobody who deserves punishment. We had an unfair election, and everyone knows it, and we just have to suck it up.

How are we the shining example of Democracy to the rest of the world?

Sorry, I still can't wrap my mind around this.

The POTUS is, apparently, of the opinion that he lacks the leverage or the standing to intervene in the election. Since there is no precedent for any of this, one would be hard put to it to demonstrate otherwise.

I doubt you are the only one who finds a little logical dissonance in asserting, on the one hand, that our election was comprised, and on the other, asserting that it is not, therefore, invalid.

The main problem is that there is not a fine line between what Russia did (hacking into the DNC and RNC) and how it directly impacted the election. The hacked e-mails probably hurt Hillary somewhat in the long run, but there were a lot more important factors that had nothing to do with Russia. Unless we have evidence that they or people working on their behalf hacked into voting machines/manipulated the results, I don't really know what anybody can do about it.

I'm resigned to the fact that the American experiment is over. Gnashing my teeth and expressing anger is not going to bring it back, so I'm done with that. Instead I'm trying to focus on what is most important to me: my family, the people I work with and for, and expressing a steady stream of appreciation and kindness on behalf of the lives I touch. America as we knew it may be gone, but I feel we can keep the spirit of it alive in our hearts and in our corners of the world.

No one has come forward to explain WHY we should have faith in the validity of this election. They readily tell us that the DNC was hacked and information gleaned there was used to embarrass various people in the party. Further doubts were raised when Comey sent his letter late in the campaign. All of this has been explained but no one has given any reassurance that the actual voting process was not compromised by Putin/Russia. It has been more or less glossed over as if it is a trivial matter and anyone who thinks it was hacked is wearing a Tin Foil Hat a little bit too tight!

Damn it, I want someone who knows about these things to tell me that there have been thorough forensic examinations of the machines, the people at the polls, basically anything to do with this election. I want DETAILS that we know for a fact that although Putin got information that was used to skew things in favor of tRump, that the election itself was not tampered with.
Unless and until that happens, I will always suspect we've been duped once again. Time is slipping away for that to happen and I was hoping that President Obama was going to announce a BIG investigation into the 2016 election. Boy, was I disappointed.....

They couldn't have imagined the internet, or modern medicine, or modern warfare. But they should have been able to imagine election interference.

For self defense or you have any questions, I'm available. Don't know if you were being serious but I thought I would throw that out there. I would rather someone who is looking for a first firearm to talk to someone who owns them and has handled them for years and not take the word of the kid behind the counter of any big box store.
