They presented all kinds of circumstantial evidence to support the idea, although none of it was definitive (obviously).

(16,829 posts)He hit her in the head with a flashlight. The parents were terrified of losing their son too, so they covered it up. I think the coverup may have been worse than the truth for everyone involved. The brother was a juvenile and wouldn't have been put away for life. The parents were always under suspicion for knowing too much... and they did know exactly what happened.
