Since cat pictures bother @KellyannePolls so much, lets start the #CatsJudgingKellyanne hashtag and tag her on all your cat pictures.
I've posted about 6 of them. The topic is TRENDING.

(25,907 posts)Almost invariably those opinions are proven correct. In thr case of Kellyanne ConJob, however, I already detested her before finding out how she feels about cats.

(9,256 posts)People who hate cats are invariably control freaks who can't handle that here's a mere animal who will not listen to or obey them.

(58,785 posts)(or blast) that most people who so strong and righteously "hate" cats are conservatives, probably especially strong conservatives. Conway is merely the latest of the many to reveal herself, and no surprise.
I mean, what kind of person would take pride in developing a hate for one of our two main pets, creatures that love to be with us, except the kind who are disposed to bigoted hates?
As you say, I also suspect their problem is that that cats are strong anti-authoritarians, with a degree of personal independence and will that most strong, typically authoritarian-wired conservatives simply can't identify with.
(Btw, my theory doesn't include people with phobias against cats. We had a very sweet neighbor who couldn't account for why they terrified her, but she wasn't proud of it and she didn't hate them, much.)
Think I'll go send Conway a cat.

(25,811 posts)but I agree with the poster who says the cat haters do not like a creature who will not be subject to their whims.
Cats have a very independent streak, which is what I personally like best. I also love that they purr. Really. It's the purring that seals the deal.
Some years back I had a cat who at an advanced age suddenly stopped purring. It was odd, and almost off-putting. Our vet couldn't offer an explanation, saying he'd never known a cat who stopped purring. About a year or so later she resumed purring for less then a week, and a week after that died.
Some good friends of mine recently adopted a cat who has one of the softest purrs I've ever known. Wonderful cat, but I miss hearing the purring.
Currently I am without a cat in my life, but someday I'll be a crazy cat lady.

(58,785 posts)desire to be with us a good part of the time, on top of the keyboard if that's where we're focused, is a biggie. A sweet little wild cat who followed the others inside when the temperatures dropped into single digits took to sleeping on my compact desk while I worked long before she would let me pet her. A very touching surprise then that still makes me smile years later.

(3,479 posts)Before my wife and I started dating. She say she could tell what kind of man she dated by the reaction of her cats. They loved me!! So it seems to me the kind of woman who would help elect a Trump. Would be hated by our very instinctive feline friends.

(9,256 posts)We were College students, he was a commuter and I had an apartment with a friend and my cat, Fred. Not only did DH like Fred right away but we were only dating a couple months when he offered to take care of Fred when I went home for semester break.

(7,185 posts)But agree 10000 with attacks on her words. An image of her as this wonderful gracious mom was built by media but when she gets riled her real demeanor comes out. To say 'you bitches' - tells me she talks and acts like Trump.

(14,852 posts)I worked with a young AA woman who was a sweetheart, but she had a strange fear/dislike of cats for whatever reason.
In Conway's case, a cat probably detected her evil and swiped at her when she was young.

(14,852 posts)The side of the box reads: "Pets are wonderful. And filthy. I have loved pets all my life. I've also contracted ringworm, toxoplasmosis and parvovirus twice. You see, whether your pet is long-haired, pure bred or mutt, all pets have one thing in common: they are dirty, disease-carrying friends."
The real gifts are inside and the inner flaps of the box reveals that it's a JOKE. I know there's several pet lovers who will be at that gift exchange.
Maybe Conway would like that type of device for real?

She did, however, claim that many of her Twitter detractors had pictures of cats as their avatars. Don't make me link to the video because it's from the Youtube channel of The Stupidest Man on the Internet.
