The United States is not 77% white as they claim. It's 63% white:

4. Definitions, definitions...

"Hispanic" is an ethnic, not racial, term. Spaniards, Brazilians, Cubans... all Hispanic, and all white, mostly. But, what about the descendants of conquistadors who mated with slaves? Didn't see much of that in the British colonies, but head south and it was all the rage.

Our current President is half black and half white-- why isn't he identified as white? There are very dark-skinned Brazilians and Puerto Ricans who don't self-identify as either black or white. Actually, they tend to identify culturally, without any racial preference. And what about those Haitians with French names?

Ethnicity is real-- language, culture, history... It's who we are. Race is artificial. Superficial physical differences should mean absolutely nothing except to geneticists.

But, unfortunately, they do.

And they seem to mean everything to frightened white guys who see themselves more marginalized every day.

6. They are probably talking about voters, 71% of voters are white according to CNN's exit polls

though I don't think I have seen a number as high as 77%, even for voters. Who claims that? Unless its some subset like swing state voters, 77% white might be true.

Older people tend to vote more and are also white at a higher percentage than younger people. And a sizable chunk of Hispanics are non-citizens and not eligible to vote.
