Can't We Subpoena for Trump's tax returns??!!

Why isn't Trump being subpoena'd to show his tax return?? I believe there is enough suspicion to claim that he was in collusion with Putin about the elections. If his tax returns show us that he is indebted to Putin, that would give us more reason to believe that Trump truly is Putin's puppet! It would show us that Trump probably did everything he could to help Putin help him to win (like collude with him about this election!) because Trump knows that if he wins, Putin will let go of whatever he is holding over Trump's head because Putin will have the US puppet that he wants!

for high crimes and misdemeanors committed while in office. Anything prior - including treason - is not impeachable. His tax returns may hold a smoking gun, but anything in them would be history and irrelevant to impeachment.

Might be politically damaging for 2018 and 2020, but you could never get a subpoena for political reasons.
