Unite or surrender
Stop beating each other up about this election. It's not helping.
Facts are facts:
Democrats have lost control of the executive and legislative branches of government and a majority of governorships and state legislatures.
Yes, Clinton won more votes, mainly west coast. Yes more Democrats voted for Democrats in the various Senate races.
Yes, gerrymandering and voter suppression account for some of it.
NO, there is nothing wrong with our core Democratic principles and values.
So where are we coming up short? Couple of areas:
News media has fucking screwed us. No nice way to put it. They care about controversy and ratings. All of them. I don't care if you are talking about MSNBC or Fox, it's all the same in the end. At least Fox doesn't try to play both sides of the coin. They never pretend to be anything other than propaganda fake news. We need to turn those we can around through public shaming and by never letting them get away with their sometimes complete lack of journalism.
Secondly, infighting and concessions and compromising have killed us. We need to spend a lot more time calling out republicans and a lot less time attacking fellow Democrats and our allies. We need a lot more unity of spirit and a lot more backbone in Congress and state governments across the country. We have to fight for what we believe in harder than ever. Use every tool in the box. Be the loudest person in the room. Every. Single. Day.
Trump is a narcissistic, racist, bigoted and xenophobic fascist. We are either united in our fight against his agenda or we will all become a victim of it.
