(8,515 posts)Ayn Rand? States Rights.....Cant help but Remember Rachel Maddows discussion with him
on his States Rights Bullshit. Believes a shop owner can choose the right to reserve service to anyone he chooses..In other words civil rights issues should be controlled by State Govts.
Ayn Rand is a goddess in the minds of all Libertarians..

(2,550 posts)Personally, I agree strongly with Libertarians.
Publicly, I'm a Democrat.
I think Libertarians view the constitution as it was intended. States rights for almost everything, little oversight from federal.
Unfortunately, that's also naive thinking and it's more efficient to do a lot more things federally. Equality and Safety needs to have federal guidelines.
So I like Libertarians but I think it's a very unrealistic stance the larger the country becomes. Economy of scale.
He's passionate though and doesn't insult. I also rarely see him trying to push crazy bills through.

(53,410 posts)but I didn't think of a single one. I thought about it because I wanted to be fair. but now I know I don't have respect for a single elected Republican. Not one.

(13,037 posts)I can not think of a single Republican politician that I respect.
They represent the needs and the wants of the 1%.
They are against anything that helps the 99%.
We are polar opposites.
I am against everything they stand for.
They are the greatest threat that this country faces.

(3,573 posts)Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona. I obviously don't agree with all of his stances, but I think the good far outweighs the bad with him. He reminds me a lot of what Senate Republicans used to be like, such as the late John Heinz. Plus, let's not forget that Flake stood up to Trump when almost everyone else in the GOP was rolling over and showing Orange Julius Caesar their bellies.

(155 posts)He is proposing legislation to create a Senate Select Committee to investigate the Russian hacking and other cybersecurity issues. Of course Mitch (The Turtle) McConnell is against this. I don't know much about Sen. Garner, but on this issue I wholeheartedly agree.

(31,483 posts)he inflicted Sarah Palin upon us. I don't agree with his politics, but I think he is probably an honorable man in most instances.
