Donald Drumpf pulled the equivalent of a Royal Flush.

We lost due to our arcane and byzantine Electoral College system. It sucks. But it is not as if Drumpf is popular. He didn't even win a plurality of the popular vote. Deplorabilism is not popular. We do not have to cater to the Deplorables to win elections. We are the majority, not the Deplorables. Secretary Clinton beat Drumpf the Deplorable by 3,000, 000 votes.

Drumpf pulled the equivalent of a Royal Flush by winning Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania by 80,000 votes.

Drumpf's victory was the mother of all black swan events. We don't have to be like the Deplorables to beat them. Remember, there are more good people than Deplorables.

Did I use the word Deplorable a lot ? That was my intention.

P.S. How could I forget?

He got a huge lift from the FBI and the remnants of the KGB.

Democrats have to shoulder our share of the blame. "If it's not close they can't cheat." It was close, lord knows they cheated, in a myriad of ways. Disheartening, discouraging, but ultimately, humbling. The GOP majorities in Congress will be where the real pain comes from.

Instead, it was the year of the "Lucky Old White Man."

The rest of us are just not so lucky.

Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania all saw their voting rolls depleted prior to the election, with thousands of eligible voters struck without cause. The Republicans who control those states' voting mechanism disqualified thousands of voters, including many Republicans, but many more Democratic voters. Oddly enough, Trump was 100% correct when he said the vote was rigged.
