https://www.whitehouse.gov/lettersWhen President Obama took office, he asked his staff to send him 10 letters from constituents to read every night. These lettershand-picked from the thousands of emails and handwritten notes that the White House receives every dayrepresent the stories and concerns of Americans across the country. The President reads a new batch of letters every night, and hes often visited letter writers in their hometowns and spoken about how these messages have inspired him and his policies.
Take a look through some of the letters sent to the President throughout his Administration. You can browse year by year or look for letters on specific topics.
Check back again soonwell be posting more letters on a range of topics that have been sent to the President over the past 8 years.

But it makes perfect sense. It keeps Obama in touch with everyday citizens of America. Fantastic idea. The best ones fall under the "Answered" category. What a thrill it must be to have the Commander in Chief respond to your correspondence.
I can't imagine Don the Con taking the time to do this. He'd probably just have a staffer send a glossy 8x10 photo of himself.
