New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie unleashed his inner pit bull Tuesday on Twitter after the Legislature shelved his bill to yank millions of dollars in ads from state newspapers.
The measure was dubbed Christies revenge against newspapers that aggressively covered Bridgegate the investigation that led to the convictions of two allies who conspired to cause a traffic jam on the George Washington Bridge in 2013 to punish a Democratic mayor who didnt endorse the governor for re-election.
The bill would have repealed the state law requiring legal notices to be printed in newspapers, clearing the way for the lucrative ads to move online.

(2,550 posts)1. Shouldn't they be online?
It's an inefficient and outdated method to publish in newspapers.
I know why he was doing this, but wouldn't it save unnecessary costs?

Not everyone has internet access or routinely checks online for these notices.
When they are in print form, it's easy access for readers in libraries, coffee shops and home.

But, you have to look past this point. His motive isn't to save the state money, since he gave Exxon an $8 Billion superfund site lawsuit waiver, lost $400 Million in Race to the Top money, and gave Trump a $25 Million tax break. It's purpose is strictly punitive.
