I meant that we're not aware of specific conversations to manipulate the election, in the way we are aware of such conversation in the case of Reagan/Iran, e.g.

Russia and trump are connected enough so that Putin could have acted on his own, knowing that would be to his advantage. That's even worse, in fact, but possibly gets them the trumpies off any charge of conspiring with Russia to manipulate the election.
