"Muslim spies in Obama's CIA! 55 Double agents exposed!" Last week:"Hillary blackmailed FBI to kill

Corruption probe! GAY SEX STING! Hillary hooked on narcotics!"

The National Enquirer is at checkout lines nationwide. Everybody goes to the grocery store, and this is the garbage that faces me, at eye level, every few days.

I've pulled them off the shelves and gone to customer service and explained patiently and then less patiently that this is garbage, it is false, it is toxic and it is harming our country. That to sell these papers is to profit off of causing real damage and intentionally misinforming people. If the family housekeeping magazine was touting recipients with poison in them, they would pull them off the shelves in a minute. This is poison too, but they are feeding it to us.

Ignoring this stream of propaganda is dangerous too. Dissent without resistance is consent, as Thoreau said.

The clerks are patient with me, being local, they are not inclined to argue. I complain, I say I understand it's not their decision, but whose decision is it?

My small goal is to get this inflammatory bullshit off our checkout lanes.

Any ideas of how to get this particular stream of poison put away?

Ps oh also, WORSE THAN WATERGATE and SEEDY ROMP CAUGHT ON CAMERA...oh God in heaven, patience. Patience and resolve.

Thought that was clear.

I'll try to be clearer.

This publication is on shelves around the country.

I'm not content to just feel upset and shop elsewhere because all the shops have this publication.

It bothers me, too. I see this shitty rag in every store where I shop, and I know people buy it and read it, those who can read. I think we need to investigate the ties between the Enquirer and certain politicians, with an eye toward big libel suits, perhaps in all 50 states.

And trump, will dig around.

One thing we could do is bring postits with non-profane and persuasive messages and stick them on the magazines.

On the Albert Einstein Institution website? http://www.aeinstein.org

"The mission of the Albert Einstein Institution is to advance the worldwide study and strategic use of nonviolent action in conflict.

The Institution is committed to:

· defending democratic freedoms and institutions;

· opposing oppression, dictatorship, and genocide; and

· reducing the reliance on violence as an instrument of policy.

This mission is pursued in three ways, by:

· encouraging research and policy studies on the methods of nonviolent action and their past use in diverse conflicts;

· sharing the results of this research with the public through publications, conferences, and the media; and

· consulting with groups in conflict about the strategic potential of nonviolent action."

There are great publications including a manual for self liberation, another titled the Anti-Coup,
There Are Realistic Alternatives (to violence) and many others. The films are very good.

We aren't the first to face a despot and they have been defeated.

Aloha no riversedge.

leaf through one of those tabloids.

Although one time I was greatly amused to see a cover story about how we were headed immediately to a new ice age, and inside was a lengthy piece about how global warming was going to put NYC underwater within the decade.

You'd think they'd have the editorial sense to put those articles in different issues, but nope.

it's a small thing, but if enough of us do it, it will become a movement! I give you credit for going to customer service to complain, but you probably need to go higher up the pecking order.

Those stupid tabloids have been around for as long as I can remember. I wonder if anyone actually buys them, or people just leaf through them in the checkout lines?
