You Must Remember This

(I will pause here for a moment to accommodate those readers humming “As Time Goes By” … Back with me? Good, read on.)

In the days ahead, we must remember that WE – Democrats, liberals, and intelligent voters across the country – gave the nation Barack Hussein Obama, one of the finest presidents who ever graced the office.

The best the Republicans could do in choosing someone to replace him is Donald J. Trump.

WE gave the world a true leader; a man of intelligence, and a vision for making the world a better place.

The best THEY could come up with is an ignorant buffoon whose only claim to fame is enriching himself by cheating people out of their money, outsourcing US jobs to low-wage countries, and refusing to pay taxes.

WE elected a president whose eloquence in speaking on any topic, from race relations at home to our place in the global community, dazzled the world.

The best THEY could do was electing a man whose communication skills are limited to mis-spelled, ungrammatical tirades on Twitter.

WE elected an adult who has met every challenge with a cool head, and endless displays of grace under pressure.

The best THEY could do is a tantrum-throwing crybaby who can’t handle a bad review of his restaurant, no less an international crisis.

WE offered the country a candidate of unparalleled experience in dealing with both domestic and international affairs; a woman who was voted the Most Admired Woman in the World over twenty times.

The best THEY could offer is a man who has NO experience in dealing with anything outside of the voluminous amount of lawsuits pending against him, which range from running a fake “university” to the rape of a minor.

WE appealed to voters who are well-informed, well-educated, well-versed in the workings of government.

The best THEY could accomplish was appealing to voters who are too stupid to know that unemployment plummeted under Obama, while the stock market soared – too stupid to understand that the man who continues to outsource their jobs isn’t the champion of those whose jobs have been outsourced.

Let’s remember that while WE have fought for every voice to be heard at the voting polls, the best THEY could do was ensure that only the voices that agreed with them would be counted. Let’s remember that lying, cheating, and stealing is the only way they can win, because when faced with things like honesty, integrity, and the truth, they have no place to hide.

Let’s remember that THEY had to rely on Putin & Co, fake news stories, and Comey’s treasonous behaviour in order to “win”.

Above all else, let’s remember that in the battles about to be fought, there are more of US than there are of THEM, and Hillary winning the popular vote is the proof thereof.

If a narcissistic, bloviating, tub-‘o-lard like Donald Trump is the best THEY could come up with, suddenly the Enemy of the People, which is what the GOP have now proven themselves to be, doesn’t seem as strong and invincible as THEY would have us believe. In fact, they have shown their weakness in their inability to come up with a single candidate who isn’t a complete lunatic, no less one who could compete with OUR brilliant POTUS.

The days ahead will be rough. But let’s remember that WE stand on the side of truth and
intelligence, while THEY stand on the side of a pompous jerk, someone who even THEY didn’t support until he “won” – with the help of our sworn enemy, who THEY now embrace.

Where will all of this lead? My prediction is that things will not end well for the party whose candidate promised to bring back jobs that are never returning, who swore he was on the side of the very people whose jobs he continues to outsource, who refuses to release tax returns proving he IS as successful as he says he is, who appoints cabinet members to positions they have no interest in, who refuses to divest himself of business interests that are at odds with the interests of the nation, and who doesn’t even understand the difference between “unprecedented” and “unpresidented”.

Where will we all wind up as a result of a lying, self-serving ignoramus being in the Oval Office? We are about to find out. Just remember to keep your voices loud and constant; remember to do whatever you can in any way you can. Remember that we WILL prevail – as time goes by.

The oligarchs will make sure that from now on, we'll be ruled by one of their number or by a proxy (ie, puppet) they can fully control.

We might have seen the last legitimate president, and even he was hamstrung by the oligarchs.

Thanks for expressing yourself, always. I don't believe this country is going down because of the likes of him either. Whatever it takes legally, he has got to go!

And President Obama? I cannot like him any more than I do, or Michelle, or his girls.

and only by a flawed electoral system do the Republicans hold sway. This nefarious lot has gamed the system by suppressing the vote, gerrymandering, a crooked FBI, and fake news / propaganda.
Trump love the poorly educated because they're unwitting dupes convinced they are being victimized by "the other" because Pox News and the right wing noise machine pounds it into their heads 24 / 7.
Republicans favor Putin over President Obama by a two to one ratio. And then they say they are the real Americans. The ignorant bigots hold the levers of power, and my best guess is they will abuse that power while blaming Obama and Clinton for all their bizarre actions that will result in failure and cost all but the wealthy elites to cover the damage.

during very hard times, we will really miss him. If he was going to be replaced by other than the orange man who sickens me every time I hear his rant with his foul mouth I may not feel so badly but I know he can not control himself nor can anyone else.

Thanks, I will bookmark this one and reread it on regular basis and wonder why the orange man was the nominee from the GOP.

Neither of the legal matters you mentioned is "pending." One was settled for $25 million, the other was dropped after the Plaintiff received death threats. "Brought" would be a better word.

Great rant. K&R.
