53 puppies die of overheating in truck in southwest Missouri

probably being trucked one of the many puppy mills in the area

"Authorities say 53 puppies died of overheating when they were left in a vehicle parked outside a home in southwestern Missouri.

An employee of RDR Transport was struggling to keep the puppies warm Sunday night because temperatures outside were in the single digits and the vehicle's heater was malfunctioning, said Newton County Chief deputy Chris Jennings. He said the worker added an extra heater but found the puppies dead upon returning to check on them about 90 minutes later. Jennings said it was a truck or van.

Renee Ray, an owner of the Neosho-based animal transport company, said some puppies survived and were treated by veterinarians.

"We realize this accident paints a frightening and emotional picture which some groups may use to try and vilify my business," Ray said in a statement that was obtained by KOAM-TV. "Everyone here at RDR Transport loves what we do and the puppies we transport."

I wonder if he transports for puppy mills?

I have a 4 month old Maltese whose mama gave birth in her mama's bedroom in Brooklyn. Saw his cozy kennel when we picked him up.

If you can't meet pups mama - and see his/her care - then adopt. Missouri has a bunch of Maltese mills. We found that out early on. Happy to pay more for a one litter and done pup.

*before anyone pops off with "why didn't you adopt?". Tried. They are a popular breed in our area and those elderly ladies who have recently died? Their lap dogs get adopted before you can even make the call.*

Missouri has more puppy mills than anyone.

We voted on new regulations and the Missouri govt. Just chose to ignore them. One man in govt 'S mother owned a puppy mill so they just ignored the election.

Those "some groups" may be exactly right about him.
