The request went to the State and Homeland Security departments and sought information related to a series of programs that counter violent extremism, including Islamic extremism in the U.S. and worldwide.

One email to the State Department reportedly asked for each official’s name and whether they are a political appointee or a career civil servant.

Earlier this month, Trump’s transition team requested a list of Energy Department employees who attended United Nations climate events or worked on climate change issues.
