Does anyone know why I can't see videos posted in threads here at DU?

I'll open a thread and I know by the bit of text that there should be a video to see but I don't see anything.

Is there a particular player download that works here that maybe I don't have?

1. Could be anything-- have you tried another browser...

there are lots of them out there. And most of them have swtiches of some sort for playing videos. And is it only DU videos you can't play?

I use Firefox for DU, Opera for some other things, Edge for links, and Pale Moon for privacy. All play videos

2. I use Mozilla and the only other place is sometimes on Youtube

a video here and there won't play but I can hear the audio. Other than that, here and youtube, I don't have any other issues with videos not showing up or playing.

3. Check to see if you've got the latest version of Flash

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If that doesn't work, check your browser security settings and if you're running a privacy program like Ghostery, check to make sure you haven't blocked video content.

5. Ah, that's probably it

I have an add on through firefox to block ads. It was always very helpful here. Without it, there is this banner of ads between the OP and the responses. Plus ads and videos off on the right side of the screen. Ad blocker helped with that. But I think since I've purchased a membership I may not get that here anymore even if I disabled the ad blocker? I'll have to try disabling it and see.

6. Make sure you have adobe flash downloaded.

That should be all you need.

7. I have adobe and it's updated

I just disabled ad blocker here but now need to find a post with a video to test it out
