My boss, an actual baby, not a Republican politician, started hollering, and I couldn't elaborate.

While I don't disagree with any thing you said, I would like to explain my position, with regard to the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Democrats welcome all to their party, while republicans ignore, and work to exclude huge demographic groups.

Democrats work countless hours working to ensure that the vote of every American is counted; Republicans spend their time working to remove that right from millions.

Democrats understand that governance for the benefit of the citizens is the true measure of a leader; Republicans think it's just fine to cheat with a foreign government to win an election. They have no intent to govern.

I guess what I am trying to say is... I don't want to be a Republican. I don't want to act like them. I want my elected officials to operate in an ethical, professional manner at all times.

I can't stand Trump, but I think I would like him even less if he was a Democrat.

7. time travel fantasy.

times were very, very different back then and you can't just take fdr's immense charisma that worked wonderfully for that era and the technology and political forces in play at that time and just assume everything would play out similarly today.

imagine fdr somehow ran as the 2016 democratic nominee. but you have to also imagine that republicans ran non-stop investigations into him and eleanors' personal lives, made a point to talk about his health and disabilities, questioned his patriotism and qualifications for office, and made up a bunch of scandals to boot, and then barely gave him any airtime.

all while insisting that toxic trump was the exciting star of the election season and they'd rather cover an empty trump podium than a live fdr speech.

FDR welcomed the hate of the plutocrats instead of worrying he would offend them and appear too liberal.

Truman vetoed Taft Hartley and pushed for free universal health care. He fought the do nothing Congress at every turn.

JFK increased social security benefits.

LBJ declared war on poverty.

I don't see Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or Chuck Schmumer doing any of those things

in truth, your response shows the problem you don't *see* pelosi, reid, schumer, etc., fighting.

in fact, they all do. each of them, along with hillary, warren, franken, and many other democrats have given stirring speeches and strong pushback at various times. the media barely covers it if at all. whereas they constantly feed the image of the strong, fighting republican.

so much of political dynamics make no sense at all until you remember how powerful and pervasive the republican propaganda machine is. once i realized this, everything fell into place. well, except for a solution to the problem....

14. There is a reason why Truman was nicknamed "Give 'em Hell Harry." His response to the label was

funny--"I just tell the truth about them and they think it's hell."

And FDR said that he welcomed the hatred of the opposition.

They were tough when tough was needed in politics. (And, yes, I am well aware that they both did some awful things--i.e., Japanese internment under FDR & ignoring the Holocaust; the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But they did know how to take the fight to the Republicans.)

when democrats go bold, the media turn a spotlight on republican critics and made-up scandals about prominent democrats, and then they search high and low and give a little bit of airtime to some democrat somewhere that seems to be thinking small, and put them on a panel where they're outnumbered and outshouted by at least 3-1.

I am starting to think that if we need to fight someone over the way the electoral process is rigged, that the corporate media may be a good place to start.
