Trump and those around him are currently engaged in---as the ever-snotty Karl Rove bragged---"creating their own reality". Whether threatening to register all Muslims, deport all Dreamers, start a new nuclear arms race or simply insulting our very popular President, they are doing their best to keep us pissed off and off balance.
If we take the bait, we'll find ourselves in two years saying "Well, Trump may have packed the courts with baggers and Neo-Nazis, sold the mineral rights to all the federal parks, repealed Roe v. Wade and made homosexuality a crime, but AT LEAST he hasn't nuked anyone---yet."
I'm not saying we shouldn't prioritize our opposition and marshal our resources. I'm just saying we should oppose EVERY DAMN THING this fascist spoiled brat proposes. Maxine Waters has it right: we should show him ZERO respect and give him ZERO cooperation!
To those who say we "should not sink to their level" I say: watch "Mississippi Burning". If you want to destroy rats who live in the sewage of society, you have to be willing to get down in the sewer. Refusing to do so gives them the comfort of a safe haven where "decent folks" will never attack them.
They are counting on us being grateful to them when they do not follow through on ALL their threats. Don't swallow this BS, please. Don't let anything slide. Don't let any outrage pass without condemnation and righteous anger. Don't tolerate intolerance.
