Enough infighting. We need each other.

You believe we need to go after Trump voters and treat them nicely.

I believe that all Trump voters are bigots and sexists and we are never likely to get them and we need to go after those who stayed home.

We will never convince each other. But you know what? IT DOESN'T MATTER!

Because the way YOU would go about convincing the Trump voter and the way I would go about convincing the voter that stayed home are probably THE SAME THING.

So let's get on with the convincing! Let's drop this argument for which there can be no winner, and unite on figuring out the methods that will get us somewhere.

Here's a beginning:

About getting together and that the message is the same regardless of whether one believes we are looking at voter ignorance or voter apathy.

I liked your suggestions on the other string but think we need to vigorously defend what has been denigrated as "identity politics." Until we start defending that vast majority of the victims of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and homophobia who are NOT Gold Star families, or high achieving dreamers, or the "cream" of other oppressed groups we turn off not just them, but people who don't understand the extent of their oppression.

Thank you for your post.

We will need to fight on a million fronts. As a woman, the defunding of Planned Parenthood is certainly in my sights. As a person who loves my LGBT sibling, so are any roll backs of gay rights.

As the issues come up in the news, I think we can add a new thread for each of them. As the names come in, those of us who start the threads can edit and attach contact information to each name that we get. I'll ask Skinner if there is a place we can pin these lists and instructions on how to contact them.
