(85,977 posts)...that's far worse than Pres. Obama moving to shore up and preserve the gains he's made.

(92,061 posts)locals. No CNN, no MSNBC, no fox, no CNBC.
There are plenty of places to get news from. Newspapers, BBC, PBS, CSPAN, etc
At least for me, I don't need an overpaid talking head telling me what to think

(24,392 posts)so I just removed all of them from the channels in my playlist. Did that Nov 9, BTW.

(92,061 posts)day after the election, and they had no problem downgrading me.
You will lose some of their bundled package tier programming though such as TCM, AMC, so it may not be for everyone.
I have no problem though, I wasn't watching that much
Here is the Family Pack lineup for anyone who is interested:

(13,532 posts)why not just dump the cable and get the local programs off the air? The market I'm in has over 80 off the air channels, many of them in HD.
You can supplement it with a Roku or similar device to stream what you can't get locally. And after you get a pretty good antenna and buy a streaming device, it's free!
We also have a Netflix and Amazon Prime services and for a fraction of what a cable bill is, you get tons of programming on demand.

(92,061 posts)want to do that. I also have Netflix and amazon prime

(13,532 posts)an indoor one works fine. I have several RCA digital flat antennas that work really well. On Amazon for about $17. Or you could upgrade to powered antennas, but I've never thought they work that much better. Been without cable since 2001, and have not missed it.

(92,061 posts)past I needed something more than an indoor antenna to pick up San Francisco channels clearly
Thanks for the suggested option

(12,586 posts)on the roof any more. Search "leaf antenna" at Amazon to see the unobtrusive plastic encased "leaf' that tacks onto your wall. Then go to tvfool.com to check your anticipated reception.

(34,582 posts)get an AppleTV (or Roku, or any of several other variants out there). Hulu is $7.99 for limited commercials (I went no comms for $11.99 a month). I got Netflix for $8, and Amazon Prime (better selection of movies than Netflix) for $100 a year, but then you get free shipping on items you buy from Amazon, so you save money there. I did this a couple months ago, and am now ready.

(3,785 posts)We can stream sling,Netflix, and Hulu from it.

(34,582 posts)Short of The Walking Dead (which I just started lately- I binge watched the first six seasons in 3 weeks) I really don't watch any shows. I will probably have to wait a few months after the second half of season 7 end before I can see them. I need to see if the first half is on Netflix yet. I've seen them already, but it may give me an idea how long the delay is.

(16,993 posts)I've read numerous posts where people were asking, "What is Obama doing, or going to do about Trump?" Well, now we know. I hope is is just as busy until the last bitter sweet moment of his presidency.

(82,849 posts)And despite what Mitch McConnell wants you to think, that president isn't Donald Trump right now. I know! Blows your mind, doesn't it? Maybe you shouldn't just swallow whatever bullshit McConnell puts out, hmmm?

(13,776 posts)"CNN Accuses Obama" sounds like they're taking sides against Obama. I didn't see that at all in the story. They're just talking about things Obama's doing that Trump won't be able to easily undo.
