We assume Trump will be like a normal person and be bothered when people are mad at him. No. He takes it as encouragement that he is top tier and someone we all envy. Our mistake is thinking he is a normal person.

All New Yawkers are not the same, of course, but those of us who actually followed the news knew him to be a shameless publicity hog that the local press used on slow news days as filler. He was never as rich or successful as he bragged and his greatest talent was rising out of failure without skipping a beat. And he had a lot of practice-- pretty much every one of his ventures dropped like a toxic boulder.

Rumor was that he had a special phone with fifty or so buttons on it-- every local radio, TV, magazine, paper, or other media that he could call on an instant when he felt he wasn't properly adulated.

We're in for a really wild ride.

I would say that he probably does know how many people despise him.

As to the question does he have any clue as to why...I'm sure he actually believes that people hate him because of how GREAT he is. How rich. How successful. How handsome.

I don't think he has the slightest clue about the real reason, and if he does, then I think he doesn't care one tiny bit.

And no, he has no clue why. But he's the smartest and best, you know.

Anyone who criticizes him is a loser, pathetic, sad, etc.

He is completely one dimensional - he has zero complexity - what you see is what you get, which makes it easy to counter him.

He may retaliate against people, actually, in ways we don't anticipate. In fact, we should expect him to do so.

Imagine a person who's so completely self-absorbed that for them life is like floating inside one of those reflective glass Christmas tree globes; all they ever see is themselves. The only voice they hear or even listen to is their own.

To a normal person, this total enchantment with "self" would be like sticking our heads into a beehive; but for a total narcissist such as tRump, this world of his feels completely perfect.

Perhaps it's worth stating the obvious here, but a clear sign of mental illness is the inability to acknowledge there's a problem when so many others are pointing out the fact there there is one.
