President Trump just announced Neil Gorsuch as his nominee to the Supreme Court, and Im ready to consider him on his merits.
But President Trump has made it clear that he wants a justice who will carry on Scalias legacy of limiting Americans' constitutional rights. If that is the case, let me make one thing very clear: You can count on me to fight back against ANY nomination that threatens the rights of Americans.
Thank you,
Kirsten

(3,813 posts)Trump is illegitimate. Repubs delayed a qualified nominee from an entirely legitimate President for about a year in an entirely unprecedented display of hubris and naked power.
We can 'consider him on his merits' in 2018 or later. And then we should reject him, and encourage a renomination of Garland. Or better yet, Trump, Pence, and Ryan might be impeached by then...

(898 posts)Gorsuch is an illegitimate nominee. ONLY Garland should be given consideration, period. "Giving consideration" has been the Democratic Party's weakness for TOO long - it has accomplished nothing!

(2,766 posts)I was appalled at "consideration." But I've become QUITE a nasty woman.
